Most enthusiasts, no matter their mettle, appreciate a good hardtop and the MGB Bermuda Hardtop is no exception. When our British sports cars were sold new there was an entire industry built around developing and marketing accessories for their customization. As expected, products for the MGB were profligate and several companies were formed to take advantage of this burgeoning marketplace. Look at the back section of any Road & Track magazine from the period and there are countless advertisements for products to make your MG, Austin-Healey or Triumph look, handle or perform better.
One of the most sought after of these aftermarket products were manufactured by Classic Motor Crafts in the United Kingdom and sought to supplement the existing factory hardtop with a unique replacement that offered a far more spacious feel than the OEM piece. Christened the MGB Bermuda Hardtop these fiberglass tops are easily recognized by their easily identifiable window arrangement with both roof and quarter panels. The Bermuda hardtop was just one of several that were offered by a cottage industry of top manufacturers, most located in England or Southern California where the ability to form fiberglass with quality results was taking hold.
Unfortunately, most have been lost to time and finding one in good condition today takes equal parts of luck and patience. The top featured here was photographed on a well restored MGB Bermuda located at The British Connection in Bellflower, California. More common in the United Kingdom than in the United States, they are a worthy addition to the classic lines of the iconic B.

Love this top! We bought ours on our new MGB in 1971 in London while I was in the Navy. We still own the car.

I bought my top for $75 on Oct 2nd, 1974. My oldest daughter was born that day (today is her birthday) and I remember I was more excited to find the top then the birth…………. Sad but true. I was young and foolish. She turned out pretty darn good in spite of me. I always wondered what happened to that car and that top. I would buy it back in a heartbeat as I always thought it very stylish.

Got one myself, but hélas, during a rather fast turn, one of the top windows popped out, flew away and it shattered. If anyone knows where I can get a replacement, I would soon be able to get under my B’s Bermudian top again !

I have a Bermuda top, and replaced the old scratched Perspex Windows , I took old windows to Perspex fabricator who used old ones as template for replacements , however I appreciate you may need an old window as template, or alternatively perhaps it may be possible to do a mirror image of the surviving roof window, there is also different shades of Perspex to choose for the roof window.
My biggest issue is finding replacement window seals

I had Bermuda hardtop on my much treasured 67 1275 Healey sprite, making it a very special car. jta700e finished in Old English white,ex demonstrater with all factory options,a real sting in its tail courtesy special tuning upgrades,some nice lucus lights,extra dials etc, radiomoble 8 track ,electic ariel,stainless headlight grills,10 inch steering wheel,performance

John Aley roll cage etc, etc,always kept her spotless owned her nearly 30 years,and yes regret selling her. The hardtop was lined black velvet, handy roof parcel shelf,fitted courtesy light, the windows had chrome beading, at the front there was a inset BC flaming torch badge, I even had 2 spare badges,vision was superb due to its sculpted windows also light airy inside, far superior to any other hardtop, it was craftsman built was easily removable, and enhanced the cars looks appearance completely ,looks good on a mgb also,wish somebody could remake it. Comes on Moss you would be on to a winner!.

I have a Bermuda Hard Top that I bought in 1967 when I bought my new MGB. I then shipped it to the US, kept it for 28 years, wish I had kept it. I did keep the top which it has been in the garage ever since. It does need the plastic glass and some work.
If still interested please let me know and I can take some pictures, and answer any other questions. I am located in Alabama.

Anyone have a photo of the Bermuda hardtop showing the seals, is there one that fits on the back against the body ?
I have just had my hard top resprayed and windows reinstalled but it didn’t come with any rubber seals .
